Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a model of responsibility for managers based on the ideas of Imam Ali (AS) in Nahj al-Balagheh.
Materials and Methods: In terms of method, the research was among the mixed (quantitative-qualitative) exploratory research. In the qualitative stage of information, through review of texts and in-depth and purposeful semi-structured interviews, responsibility based on Nahj al-Balaghah in the framework of the document of fundamental change was extracted. The statistical population in the qualitative section consisted of 15 academics and education specialists and purposefully participated in the interview process using the Delphi method. The statistical population in the quantitative part was the directors of education in Tehran that 350 people were selected through Krejcie and Morgan table using stepwise cluster sampling method. The data collection tool in the qualitative part included a researcher-made questionnaire and in the quantitative part was the responsibility questionnaire (Goff et al., 2001). The coding stages of the research included open, content and pivotal coding. In the quantitative part for data analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was performed.
Findings: The results showed that the components of courage, trust, appreciation, values, punctuality, participation and self-health were the components of managers 'responsibility, which respectively had the highest factor load and factor weight on the second factor of the seven-factor model of managers' responsibility.
Conclusion: Responsible, courageous, punctual and spiritually motivated managers further facilitate organizational processes and reduce the financial burden of the organization and create an effective psychological atmosphere.
