Introduction: According to the criminal laws, abortion is considered as a crime in most cases and in rare cases, it is considered an exception. One of these cases of abortion is based on the Coercion Rule, a jurisprudential principle. The state of coercion for the mother to save her life will authorize abortion. The coercion rule indicates that this is true for abortion, such as the famous hadith, called Raf, which is in the process of removing the sentence from the contributor in special circumstances. Hence, the aim of this study was to analyze the coercion rule in abortion permission. This research is applied in terms of the aim that was conducted by content analysis method. In the organization of research, the documentary and library methods have been used and the analysis of the information was qualitatively performed based on the inference of the researcher from the Quranic sources and jurisprudential and legal texts; so, the information were collected through library and document measurement tools.
Conclusion: In case of emergency, Iranian law permits abortion before the age of 4 months.
