Introduction: Medicine is an applied science, the purpose of which is to preserve and promote human health, to treat diseases, and to rehabilitate injured people. This purpose is achieved by recognizing, diagnosing, treating, and preventing the diseases. Despite the position of the Holy Qur'an in the field of health, utilizing the Holy Quran in Iran's medical science output is at a low level. One of the characteristics of the Holy Qur'an is "Shefa". Since "Shefa" is precedent to disease, it is meant improving and treating the disease as well as cause of improving and treating it. The main purpose of descending the Qur'an is the spiritual guidance of humans to perfection and happiness. Reaching the perfection requires breeding the soul, body health, and its nutrition. The aim of this descriptive-analytic study was to examine the most important principles and challenges of citation to the Qur'anic verses in medical sciences. Conclusion: The most important principles of citation to Qur'anic verses in the medical sciences are the wisdom nature of the word and the action of Allah, the Holy Qur'an healing, being beyond the age and immortality of the Holy Qur'an, and the invitation of human to meditation and accuracy. Also, the use of non-deterministic sciences as symbols and the imposition of medical issues on the verse, regardless of the implications of the appearance of the verse and existing evidence, are of the most important challenges of citation to Qur'anic verses in medical sciences.
